Julie Askew (born 1969) is a graduate of Middlesex University with a BA(Hon) in Scientific Illustration. Sitting in hides from dawn to dusk drawing and studying bird behavior, sketching collections and understanding anatomy gave her a great grounding for research and a taste for fieldwork.

Her travels have taken her world-wide, across
Africa, Asia, Australia, The Pacific, Europe, USA and Caribbean. Her chosen subject matter has now centered primarily on the North American continent for the indigenous wild-life and dramatic landscapes, together with her enchanting studies of children, discovering and engaging with the world of nature. These delightful images are drawn from observations in the National Parks of the USA, the more pastoral landscapes of the English countryside and more recently from observations in Denmark where Julie currently resides.

Supporting the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, she recently held a successful show at their Cheng-Kim Loke Gallery at
Slimbridge, UK, and has donated work for their international research programs.

Julie is a regular Artist In Residence at the Nature In Art Museum,
Gloucestershire, UK, where she enjoys demonstrating to the public and encouraging others to appreciate the Natural World. She is also Guest Art Lecturer for P&O Cruises traveling on the Super-liners, Oriana, Aurora, Oceana and Adonia taking art to the high seas.
